How many children do you impact with your work?
We provide food for between 200-300 children daily. Some of the children rely on us for their only daily meal (they are called 'core beneficiaries') and they amount to around 150 children.
If I make a donation, can I decide what my money is used for?
Yes, certainly. We are currently mainly operating as a feeding scheme and thus majority of our donations are used to buy food, clothes and shoes. We will hopefully soon start providing homework support and establishing a small computer lab where children will be able to do their homework/projects, and if you prefer, we can rather apply your money for that part of our expansion.
How is Legae Child Care Centre different to other NPO's?
Sound Financial Management - we have only had clean audits since inception, we are fully SARS compliant and we provide Section 18A Tax Certificates and other required documents for large donations

Focus on Root of Problem - we are currently feeding hungry children (symptom), but we have different projects aimed at mitigating some root causes e.g. assisting children and parents in obtaining enabling documents (ID's/ Birth Certificates), to ensure children can attend school and get access to available Government grants.
